Music

I really love the ultra happy music of Trinidad: Soca...and truth be told I listen to it most of the time, except when I really have to boost those beta waves to stay awake while correcting the never ending pile of my students' coursework... However, when asked to list my top 10 Albums, I went back over the years, got eclectic and came up with this:

  1. Bob Marley – Chances Are
  2. Lauryn Hill – The Miseducation of…
  3. Gil Scott-Heron – Spirits
  4. Jan Garbarek – Officium
  5. Michael Nyman – The Piano
  6. Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong – Ella & Louis
  7. Ernest Ranglin – In Search of the Lost Riddim
  8. Tracy Chapman – Tracy Chapman
  9. Erykah Badu – Baduizm
  10. Stevie Wonder – Songs in the Key of Life
(ps. it was very hard to narrow down from 25, and is liable to change at the drop of a hat...especially when I inflicted with a sudden memory...)
So now for some soca shares....

  • First up the man now calling himself Monk Monté for some bizarre reason on which I have no wish to speculate....Machel Montano.
